City of Greenbrier

To help us keep the cost of wastewater treatment down, we would like to ask each of you to follow some basic rules:

1. Items that should NOT be disposed of in the sewer system: paper towels, baby wipes, feminine products, condoms, rags, oil, kitchen grease, chemicals, paints or thinners. These items are costly to remove, can damage equipment, will upset the operations of the facility and require additional work for treatment facility personnel.

2. Repair leaky faucets and running toilets. Just a small drip in a faucet or a running toilet can lead to hundreds of gallons of lost water over time

3. Report any open or overflowing manholes. An open manhole can allow rainwater to enter the collection system, which will have to be treated and cause a dangerous situation for children.

4. Keep the cap secured tightly on any sewer clean-out on your property.

By doing your part, we can work together to help keep operating costs down, prevent rate increases and maintain a safe, clean environment within the city of Greenbrier

Thank you!

Jeff Ward

Wastewater Superintendent
